Pumpkin Date

We love pumpkins, they are so cute chubby so naturally we can't help but love them. Since it is almost the 23rd of October (which is our special day every month) we decided it would be a fun date to go to breakfast in Davenport, at the Whale Cafe (which was better the first time we went there like two years ago) and then go pumpkin hunting.
I just love him, we obviously had not found any pumpkins yet but Sam says that finding the right pumpkin is the hardest part.

I was too busy taking pictures and being so excited that I was surrounded by pumpkins and being in love with my husband.
But we finally found the perfect pumpkins. This pumpkin patch was really fun too they had a ton of different color pumpkins and vegetables as well as huge cut out things that Sam wouldn't pose in. We had so much fun.

Right after the pumpkin patch we went to the Cold Water Classic and met some friends there. I educated them on Quad cam and also made Matt Hurley fall in love with Sam's coffee mug.

All together a really good morning with my Shmee.

Moving In

So, as I (Monica) said last time I'm moving in and this last weekend was a really long, eventful, and productive weekend! It has been so much fun picking out how we want our house to look, and also learning who, what, where, when, and how we would like to put all this stuff into the house has been interesting.

Just Married still written on the back

lounging on the bed he hates.

Now Saturday was really funny. It started off with me meeting Michelle at TwinLakes for the "worlds biggest yard sale" which I got a two dollar side table, that is really cute, and a down comforter for 3$ SO AWESOME! Then was followed by Michelle and I driving around Santa Cruz like crazy women trying to find other garage sales. Let me tell you Michelle knows how to get a deal out of people I need to take her everywhere! We ended up with another side table for our living room. Then I went to a few garage sales by myself, but eventually gave up and met Chelsea at the apartment. Chelsea parked in the illegal zone of our apartment complex, so one of the crazy ladies that live there called the copes.... but don't worry she managed to have perfect timing and left just as the cope was pulling into the drive way. This day went on for a long time... because after all this we went and took some gifts back to Bed BathandBeyond and to make a long story short I ended up going there about 3 times that day.

Chelsea found her favorite pillow and a boyfriend.. it was a good day for her.

After all the trips to bedbathandbeyond, the mall, the bank, Ross, and Target I finally got to go home to my shmee and organize everything that I had got that day. While having our friends Pat and Mike over for a wonderful meal of leftovers!

my favorite thing I got on Saturday was this welcome mat.. I have no idea why I like it so much.

I can't leave our Kyle Pitchford... he came over and helped us move as well a few days before all this craziness... then we made him some amazing enchiladas.

Our house is coming together I'm sure I will need to to to Target a ton more but it's almost there. I will have pictures up soon of our progress.

The beginning of our story.

{little side note before we get started here; some of you might be wondering what a "shmee" is, and all I can say is that it is mine and Sam's version of "babe" and we over use it and people hate it, but we love it.}

Well friends this is our blog!
Inspired and encouraged by my dear friends, Katy Reed and Amy Allen. This is a way for the three of us to feel some what connected with each other. With the Reed's living in Washington, Allen's living in Chicago, and the Nowlin's living in Santa Cruz we are all a bit distant, but getting to share tidbits of our new lives with each other ,and with our friends and family, is going to be an adventure!

As most you must already know, Sam and I are Married!! We were wed on October 2, 2010, and it was so much fun! (even if we can't seem to remember everything that happened...it all seems like a blur now) Right now we are trying to just enjoy being Mr. and Mrs. Nowlin. Which is soooo fun for me (Monica) It's so weird and cool when I get to tell people that Sam is my husband, and I know he feels the same way. We are also moving me (Monica) into the "Shmee Shack" (this is what we call our tiny apartment) and this has been really funny...really funny (pictures coming soon). Moving is a bit rough due to the fact that we work so much ,and actually want to see eachother at the end of the day, that we don't seem to make time to pack, unpack, and actually haul stuff over. Due to our laziness/business we are sleeping in our sleeping bags on the floor, because we were not going to try and fit on a twin size bed! However, my amazing family (Aunt Kelly and Uncle Larry) bought us sleeping bags that zip together, so don't worry we still get to cuddle.
We are so excited about life and everything that is going to be thrown at us, and I hope to keep you all in the loop with whats up with the shmees!

Here are some sneak-peeks the amazing photographer Erica Sergio (stubbelfield) sent over a few days ago. I can't wait to see all of them, and thought you all might enjoy seeing some as well.

my husband is SEXY!
