Nanny

God has really blessed me with amazing jobs as a nanny. My first one here in Santa Cruz is with the Davis family; Andrew, April, Mason, and Garen. They are really amazing and have been like a second family to me here in Santa Cruz (yes a family that pays me for nannying weird combo I know). I still watch the boys every now and then , but not as much as usual because they are growing and are now big boys. So, now I have another nanny job with the Lemon family; Peter, Carla, Coleman, and Fern (fern is the dog but she is a handful so it's like I watch her too) This family is such a blessing they came at the perfect time in my life and always work with my schedule and just care about my life it's so great. It is truly amazing to see how God works in my life, and how perfectly he has made this path that I live. Both of these families are truly wonderful and have always been so overly gracious to me. I could not ask for anything better, being that I have friends that have had and still have some families they work for that are....um... not the best.

family dinner

Last night we got invited over for dinner at the Hurley home- by our good friend Chelsea Fenwick. After a long long long day at work it was really good to enjoy good people and good company. This was a feast hand crafted by; Susan Hurley, Chelsea, Matt Hurley and Nala Hurley. Turkey burgers with home made fries and a funfetti cake with no frosting, because Jeff Neckers didn't get the hey tell message to pick it up, but it's ok because he ended up saving the night by buying frosting AND red wine!!!! Yay for JEFF.

Sam and I brought some donuts for dessert because we really care about the health of our friends. There was some cuddle time with me chel and Erin we are getting really good at cuddling. I also learned that Sam does not like the way I drive.... I don't know why but he doesn't enjoy it.

I snuck up on her.

he's really into baking.

Crafts & Tacobell.

we finally got to spend a large chunk of our weekend together! Friday I ended up not having to work so I went over to the in-laws and worked on "thank you cards" (yes, they are almost done!!) While Sam worked on his new project. A 1980 something Honda motorcycle that he is making into "the purple kook" He says it will be my motorcycle, but we will see since he is making it all chopper status I'm not to sure if I will be riding it anytime soon. But it is so fun to see him being so creative with the bike, he really loves doing it and a ton of his friends came over to help him with it. Then we stayed at the house all night just relaxing it was really good!
The bike looks nothing like this anymore.

Saturday we woke up really late and lounged around the house for a long time (which we never do! so it was pleasantly different and relaxing) After just hanging out at home we went for a bike ride and the day was SO beautiful.

We both decided that we wanted to work on some crafts; Sam wanted to make a studded design thing on his belt, and I wanted to paint a canvas we had from our wedding. So, after trips to Palace arts and Beverly's and after running other errands we went home and started working. Sam got the wrong thing so we made a quick trip to the store. Being that Sam eats meat now he has a weird obsession with taco bell. He wants it all the time, I finally gave in and we went there for dinner. which was not a good idea because we both ended up with stomach aches! basically we will both not be going back to TB for a long while.
Chalupa.

These are the cause of death.

Happy Moo-stach-eh!

the beginning.

he does manly crafts

day after almost done.

finally done
 It was a good weekend

Blessed

God had been so incredibly faithful to Sam and I. His grace is so amazing, I usually cry (crying right now actually!) when I think about how much he blesses and loves us. Getting married is a big step for our lives together and we couldn't be happier! It is truly amazing being able to wake up, go to sleep, have fun and so many more things with your best friend everyday. Sam has been working so hard and has been showing me such unconditional love and I am so blessed to have him as my husband.

Praising our Lord today for the good and the bad times, and for always being more and more and more than enough for me.
Needing prayer for trusting God more and breaking down walls I have put up against people. Also for motivation to dive deeper and deeper into His word and serving others.

God is GOOD!

Bake like the indians.

So this was another Tuesday at the Hurley's! It's always so fun and interesting, it's just great to be around people you love for a few hours. We just use baking for the boys as our excuse, but I love it (I'm sure the other ladies do too) So this Tuesday bake day we decided to make cheesecake, which is something I have never made before. I also did not take a before an after picture. However, the people at my office are enjoy the leftover cake that the boys didn't eat, so I am assuming that it's good, and being that I had a piece for breakfast I know it's good. You can never go wrong with a recipe from Joy of Cooking.

Any who we always cook a heart health option for Mr. George Hurley because he needs a treat too, and then a normal option for everyone else. I made a chocolate cheesecake with a teddy graham crust that was supposed to have a chocolate ganache on top, but I didn't have time to make it because I needed to get my love from work.

So sometimes we like to go back to the ways of the Indians, ok, only when we don't have two food processors. Susan is very resourceful though and found a hammer to crunch up her gluten free cookie crust.

I wore pig-tails just for the Indians. Its almost Thanksgiving right?

She's really good with processing food.

we couldn't get Susan to work because she was texting her very wonderful man.

little poo
The cakes turned out really good, I served mine a little too early so it was still mushy : ( but i tried it this morning and it was just perfect. Sam and I went to his parents and worked on the "purple kook" and then came back to the Hurley's and I snuggled with Chelsea, Erin, and Rachel while the boys watch SOA.
