Big sur

not our pic but still pretty.
There are no photos of this trip just yet, somehow i lost my card reader so i guess we will just have to wait. I do want to share with everyone what a wonderful time we had! This is the first time we had gone camping in general as a couple! No more having to sleep in separate tents or one of us in a tent and one of us in the truck. It was... I wish i could think of a better word than great, but that's all my little mind can think of right now.

We had a bit of an adventure getting to Big Sur this year. First off I had to work the day we wanted to leave, so we couldn't leave until the evening... which everyone knows, on a Friday night, you are not getting a camp site. We had high hopes though because this weekend wasn't a holiday or even near a holiday-- boy were we wrong! The spot we wanted to camp was FULL people on top of people and cars lining the street. So we went to the site where we have camped before, even though the ranger told us we were not getting a spot that night. As we drove we were coming up with a plan of where we would camp, Sam wanted to drive on to this mountain top, and i was just stressing. We get to the new spot and sure enough everything is full, well all but one spot but it looked like it was reserved. We find the rangers , Cindy and Dennis, and asked them is there were any spots, Dennis is crazy and yells "no!" and then Cindy says "go to number 8." So we go and sure enough the person bailed and didn't show up, and we got the spot! we were so happy we hugged and danced and hugged some more and even jumped up and down like little school girls. God blessed us so much because she told us that she had turned away 30 people that day! We also had the best ocean view. God had a plan for us that day.

Day one: after having a wonderful mickey mouse pancake breakfast, made by yours truly and i was so proud because I have never made them and they actually came out looking like Mickey, we of course went surfing. It was really hard but so much fun. This time Sam let me do my own thing and just figure things out for myself, and guess what? I stood up for the first time ever on my board! I was so proud, Sam was so proud and we canoodled because of it. Then one after another i got up on my board... Sam got amazing waves too and it was just a really good time. We went back to our spot and napped... man it was the best nap. Has anyone ever noticed that when you're camping the naps are always the best? Then once our glorious nap was sadly over we had to go to the store for some fire wood and treats. This ended up being a site seeing trip to the store we ventured off our path and went and looked at a bunch of fun and beautiful thing. We went to the most overly priced store ever and bought nothing that we actually needed because it was ridiculously priced... so i had to mooch off our neighbors which was more interesting and fun. That night we had a really good dinner and because our site had a wonderful ocean view we got to watch the sun set while enjoying it.

Day two: We had a huge breakfast and cleaned up all our things and got on the road. But we couldn't leave with out more site seeing and getting in a little hike. So we drove a little bit and went to Jade Cove (Jade cove is a cove-obviously- where they mine jade) we tried to dig up some jade but had no luck and I was scared we had poison oak so i wouldn't touch anything haha.
This was one amazing trip....pictures to come soon.
