Joshua Wilderness

So we had some wonderful friends from our Joshua class come over last night for dinner. It's always good to see people you love and just catch up and be silly. One thing I think we all (in one way or another) realized was that we are harboring some bitterness towards our Joshua class, directors, teachers, and Hume lake. It was a sad moment for me because I didn't know these things about myself, or at least didn't want to know these things. I'm a bit angry and annoyed with somethings that I remember going down. Well I was last night because as I talked them through with my fellow Joshua's I realized how stupid I was for holding on to something so peaty. God changed me for the good in that place and my worldly perspective changed me in the bad. A place is not going to be perfect because it's in this world, this world of sin and sickness. Even if it is Hume Lake one of the most beautiful places I know of. I'm ashamed of my bitterness and I'm sad that I have been carrying it around with me for so long. Thank goodness for Hilary, Jacqui, and Sam because they really know how to knock sense into me. I loved every moment I got to spend with them and I love God for working through people and in my life.

Delta

Our good friends Matt LaMarche, Joe Ruppert, and Ryan Nickel (and probably a few more) have been tell Sam over and over and over that he looks like the lead singer from Delta Spirit. Even friends we haven't talked to for years have sent him links of his picture to show Sam he looks like him. So, it just so happens that they were going to be playing at the Fillmore in San Francisco the beginning of December. Our friend Matt says "I will buy your tickets if you will go and watch them" and we took him up on his offer. We set off to go and see "Sam's twin" with a big crew of people in tow.

Basically they were amazing!

Sam doesn't look like Matt Vasquez and I should know I look at him everyday. He also definitely didn't because he shaved is head the night before!

Honestly I only took one picture and it's not very good. They was a woman dancing in front of me that was AMAZING! There was also a woman that was angry at me for trying to take photos so basically there were just WAY too many distractions.

Heres a video you can judge if Sam looks like him or not : )

Bald Aprons.

Sam has done a lot of things this past week, and being that he likes me to speak for him on "our" blog I am going to tell you about them. They might seem minor but really they are a BIG deal to us.

First; I finally bought Sam his apron. What I had intended to do was get him a really fun one with my face on it so that when he washes the dishes he can be with me at all times. But I always seemed to forget to get him one over and over again. So I just so happened to be at K-Mart ,buying some nail polish, and I saw aprons and they weren't just girly frilly aprons but some that men could wear too. I picked one out for Sam and it was just a plan blue and white stripped but Sam loves anything nautical looking. Basically he loves his apron and had me take photos of him wearing it : )

Second; Sam ,after many days of me begging him not to do it, SHAVED HIS HEAD. Actually I shaved his head because I am a loving wife. I am very sad to see his beautiful locks go but I think I am starting to love his new head. I can actually see the shape of it and feel all the lumps hahaha however weird that sounds. He will always be my sexy even if he doesn't have his Sam hair. He loves his head being shaved because now we don't have to buy combs, pomade, or hair cuts (because we decided I am not allowed to cut his hair anymore) and he isn't hot all the time. He's cute.

Girls Night/ Guys night

Last night I had a little girls night while Samuel hung out with all the boys...I have no idea what they did nor do I want to hahah. Ok, well moving on....The ladies that I got the pleasure of spending time with were Julie, Katie, Chels, and a new member Jenni (we really missed Mrs. Volk last night but next time she will be there!). We basically just hung out ate pizza, drank (a lot) wine, consumed a ton of Ben and Jerry's, and shared basically anything personal we could share, it was so much fun. I learned a lot about Mrs. Julie Skelton and I love her so much! I am so thankful for these new woman that are being put into my life and just how honest we are with one another. Tonight we have the women's Christmas tea at Twin Lakes church tonight and we will all once again be there together....holler!

I wish I was better at taking pics.

Seriously funny

the best

Well I do not have any pictures of guys night being that it was guys night. The boys made that very clear when I snuck over to give Sam kisses! But how can a resist that man I had to give him as much PDA as possible.

Love.

Learning

Sam and I are in a state of learning so so much about one another, be it good or bad. God is really showing himself to us and it is overwhelming, awesome, challenging, and motivating. It's really interesting to work through things as a couple. I never knew it would be anything like this but being able to work through anything with your best friend is really the best even when we are working through the worst. God has really really shown me love these past few weeks and just understanding if him being my father. Trusting has been really difficult for both of us lately.

Prayer request: Trusting the Lord, growing a community of believers that challenge us in our faith as well as build us up.

Praise: That God is bring Sam and I closer to his family and each other. We also keep getting financially supported by God SO much even when we blow it! Praise the Lord.

giving thank

This was our first Thanksgiving as a married couple, and since we are switching off holidays, this year was spent with Monica's family. We even stayed at a hotel... we are just hotel hoppers now. The Monday before Thanksgiving we had "friends giving" with everyone (well almost everyone) at the cove. It was too much fun all of it. We didn't take too many photos, but Monica did take random Polaroids....

Oh yea... it was mo's birthday

It was also my (monica's) birthday so Sam and I drank mimosas.. it's our new favorite thing. All together being able to see my family and my friends ans share all of this with my husband was sooooo much fun. It was seriously so much fun being at my best friends house and just sitting and talking with everyone..... NOW black friday is another story... I will most likely never do it ever again!

Sam and I decided to celebrate my birthday a little early. Well to be fair we were just planning on going to the city and then said it was for my birthday afterward, I think it was to sort of justify all the money we spent haha. We had such an awesome time.... seriously San Fran never gets old truly! We planned to stay at the Marriott near the Wharf (which was our first planned trip on our own, it so exciting to plan things I never knew we could get excited about such weird things but it was so fun planning it) before we checked into our hotel we went to the beautiful Tea Gardens and visited the Science museum. the weather was really cold but nice. The museum was not as good as the first time I had been there and there were tons of kids... so it was not what we had anticipated but being together made it really funny. Sam really wanted a hot dog (because he eats meat now) so we stopped at a little stand in the garden. then we FINALLY found our hotel, I learned something about my husband and myself.... we both get very frazzled when it comes to being lost and directions, but after we finally get to where we are going we always say sorry and then cuddle and then I try to embarrass Sam as much as possible with too much PDA! he loves it : )
On our way to SF we bought some cheap tickets to go see West Side Story. I knew nothing about it before and was really excited that we scored some seats. They might have been obstructed view but they were really great for us. I once again put the wrong address into the Garmin so during the middle of the rain storm that happened on Saturday, so we were walking around lost in the rain and I whined a lot. However we made it to the play early and loved it.
The next day we had a really late breakfast at a little side street cafe, and the food was alright not over the top good, but sitting on the street people watching was very interesting. Then we did a little shopping and took the long way home. I had never driven the coastal way home... it is so beautiful. We really live in a beautiful place.

such a fun weekend.
